What valves are used for hydropower stations

The water system of hydropower station mainly includes two parts: water supply system and drainage system.

Among them, the water supply system includes technical water supply, fire water supply and living water supply; The drainage system includes leakage drainage, maintenance drainage and factory drainage.

In the water supply system, technical water supply is also called production water supply. The water supply object includes various mechanical and electrical equipment, mainly the lubrication and cooling water for unit bearings, the water for generator air coolers, the water for water-cooled transformers, the water for water-cooled air compressors, and the water for spindle sealing. Its main role is to cool and lubricating the equipment, and sometimes it is used as operating energy. Such as jet pump, high head power station water inlet valve; Fire water supply is mainly used for fire fighting in the main plant, transformer, generator and oil treatment room. The living water supply is the washing and drinking water used in life.

In the drainage system, the leakage drainage in the plant usually includes: the leakage of the hydraulic buildings in the plant, the leakage of the unit top cover and the main shaft seal, and the leakage of the water supply and drainage valves and pipe fittings, etc. The characteristics of the leakage drainage are small discharge, low elevation, and can not be discharged to the downstream by the flow. Therefore, the general power station is equipped with a collection well, the above leakage water concentration, and then pump out.

The maintenance drainage includes: water accumulation in the drainpipe, water accumulation in the volute and pressure pipe below the tailwater level, and water leakage in the upstream and downstream. Maintenance drainage is characterized by large displacement, low elevation, the need to use the pump in a short period of time to discharge. In addition, many power plants also set up plant drainage Wells, mainly to collect rainwater and other drainage around the plant and discharge it. Usually, it can be discharged by the flow, and when the downstream water level is high, it can be drained by the pump.

Valves commonly used in water supply systems are:

Technical water supply: double eccentric butterfly valve, cast steel gate valve, etc.

Fire water supply: signal butterfly valve, soft seal gate valve, pressure reducing valve, safety valve, etc.

Domestic water supply: stainless steel butterfly valve, cast iron gate valve, soft seal gate valve, globe valve, etc.

The main valves used in the drainage system are:

Leakage drainage: worm butterfly valve, knife gate valve, soft seal butterfly valve, swing check valve, etc.

Maintenance and drainage: butterfly valve, flange butterfly valve, check valve, rubber soft connection, etc.

Factory drainage: knife gate valve, double eccentric butterfly valve, cast iron gate valve, etc.
